Six interesting sets in LEGO BrickLink Designer Program Series 2

Series 2 of the LEGO BrickLink Designer Program has revealed its fan-designed models and we’ve looked through all 190 to find some of the best.

Closing on June 30, the crowd support period for the LEGO BrickLink Designer Program Series 2 will close. However, the recent opening of this phase has revealed the 190 submissions that are all in the running for a future model, as the program has resulted in before.

While you can look through the many submissions now and have until June 30 to decide which ones you like the most, voting using emojis like last time, we’re getting you started by highlighting some of the most interesting models in the selection.

6 – Shotengai Street Market

Inspired by a Japanese street market, the Shotengai Street Market focuses on pedestrian space with multiple ways to display it and plenty of shops and nooks to explore. It also appears to be modular in some of its configurations.

5 – The Sub Sandwich Shop Food Truck

Fan designer: DallenPowell Pieces: 1,453 Stickers: 2 Minifigures: 3

In line with the snack location that has been picked in the first series, The Sub Sandwich Shop Food Truck is a heavily-decorated food truck with some interesting functions contained within. It could be a good addition to a city display, perhaps next to a park with some benches.

4 – Alpine Adventures

Fan designer: brick_engineer Pieces: 1,839 Stickers: 0 Minifigures: 4

Not many LEGO BrickLink Designer projects depict nature but brick_engineer’s Alpine Adventures does just that in an idyllic scene that uses perspective to make the scene look bigger than it is.

3 – Exoplanet Explorer

Fan designer: BrentWaller Pieces: 1,686 Stickers: 0 Minifigures: 4

It wouldn’t be a selection of fan designs without some kind of reference to Classic Space. The Exoplanet Explorer is another modern vehicle for the astronauts with a detailed interior too.

2 – Magical Village over The Bridge

Fan designer: brickester Pieces: 1,799 Stickers: 5 Minifigures: 4

Perfectly in line with the Winter Village Collection, Magical Village of the Brdge features a hairdresser and candy shop in one connected building sitting on top of the beautiful bridge over a frozen river.

1 – Asgard Norse Mythology

Fan designer: Sinbad Pieces: 3,698 Stickers: 9 Minifigures: 4

The LEGO Group has a fair amount of experience with Norse mythology thanks in no small part to LEGO Marvel. However, Sinbad is proposing a more in-depth exploration of it with the great hall of Valhalla and the world tree – Yggdrasil.

LEGO has been a part of my life ever since I was young. It all started when my brother passed down 7657 AT-ST to me. It’s guided me through my early years, through school and eventually through my degree in journalism. I still have all my collection proudly on display, including my many NINJAGO sets, my favourite of all the LEGO Group’s themes. Outside of Brick Fanatics I am an avid gamer and enjoy a good game of Dungeons & Dragons.
