Dungeons and Dragons streaming series coming as LEGO set approaches

Following the winner reveal for the LEGO Ideas contest and the upcoming movie, a Dungeons & Dragons streaming series has been announced.

As reported by Deadline, a Dungeons & Dragons streaming series has been ordered for Paramount+. According to the source, the series will feature eight episodes with Red Notice filmmaker Rawson Marshall Thurber having written the pilot script and being set to direct the first episode of the series.

Based on the fantasy roleplaying game owned by Hasbro, a recent partner of the LEGO Group, nothing is reported for the story or characters of the series at this time. Unless it’s released in the next few months, the series will follow the Dungeons & Dragons: Honour Among Thieves movie coming on April 7, 2023 or March 31 in some regions.

The movie and series are both co-productions between Entertainment One and Paramount Pictures. This news comes just after the announcement of the LEGO Ideas Dungeons & Dragons contest winner, which will become an official model in the future, possibly in time for the 50th anniversary of Dungeons & Dragons in 2024.

Whether the series or movie will influence the model has yet to be seen though it will likely depend on each project’s release date relative to one another.
