The link between LEGO and the Caped Crusader goes back many years, and so it is with sadness that Brick Fanatics learned of the death of Kevin Conroy. The voice-actor who portrayed Bruce Wayne and his alter ego, the Dark Knight, for many years succumbed to cancer and passed away, aged 66, in Burbank, California on November 10.

A stalwart of the DC Animated Universe, Conroy rose to fame with Batman: The Animated Series in the early 90s and went on to star in many other series’ including The New Batman Adventures, Batman Beyond as well as various Justice League projects. He wasn’t limited to just TV and film though, as he provided Batman/Wayne’s voice in the Batman: Arkham and Injustice video games.

DC Comics tweeted their sadness at the news a short while ago.

Mark Hamill, who frequently appeared opposite Conroy when portraying the Joker, once said “When they offer me roles now, I say, ‘Is Kevin doing it?’ … I don’t even have to read the script, if Kevin’s doing it I’ll do it.”
