Is a LEGO Harry Potter Collection coming to PS4?

If you didn’t get your LEGO Harry Potter fix through the duo of spellbinding PS3 games, you may be in luck. Eagle-eyed Twitter user Gematsu noticed that Brazil’s games rating board has listed a rating for an as-yet unannounced ‘LEGO Harry Potter Collection’ on PS4.

While there’s absolutely no other information to go on at the moment, it’s not difficult to imagine that the title will be a complete package of both LEGO Harry Potter: Years 1-4 and 5-7, though whether it will still treat those as two separate games, or one collective universe like LEGO Star Wars: The Complete Saga, remains to be seen.

The timing of this release should be of no surprise to anyone, with Harry Potter mania reaching critical mass in the second half of 2016. Harry Potter and the Cursed Child is being performed on the West End in London, while the script is available to buy in book form, if you’re so inclined. Add to that the release of the first Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them film in November, plus the boy wizard’s inaugural jaunt into the LEGO Dimensions universe, and you’ve got a solid case for re-releasing the games.

It also helps that TT Games’ slate is currently blank – Dimensions aside – with no full titles, like the recent LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens, on the horizon. Stay tuned for further announcements, potentially as soon as this weekend, with Gamescom well underway in Germany.

I like to think of myself as a journalist first, LEGO fan second, but we all know that’s not really the case. Journalism does run through my veins, though, like some kind of weird literary blood – the sort that will no doubt one day lead to a stress-induced heart malfunction. It’s like smoking, only worse. Thankfully, I get to write about LEGO until then.
